Water injection strategy is considered a promising technique to improve the performance of boosted engine and reduce NOx emission via latent heat water vaporization. Numerous research on has been conducted in-cylinder intake port injection. However, focusing spark ignition (SI) exhaust system still lacking. This study proposed pre-turbocharger turbine (PTWI) concept inlet temperature. was done so that stoichiometric operation could be achieved at medium–high load speed without resorting fuel enrichment gas aims investigate effect injecting into pre-turbine turbocharged engine. experimented 1.3-L 4-cylinder collect data for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) baseline model validation.
